Before you call
Forbes India feature questions, answered.
Straight answers from Execlient, so you know what fits before you call.
Is it real, and is it honest?
How do I get featured in Forbes India?
There are two routes. Editorial coverage is free but never certain: you pitch a real news story to Forbes India's journalists, and they decide. A sponsored feature is paid and labelled Brand Connect: we interview you, write the story, you approve our draft, and it runs once Forbes India accepts it. The sponsored route is the only one we arrange.
What is Forbes India Brand Connect?
It's Forbes India's section for paid content. Online, every Brand Connect page carries that byline and a closing note that these pages are "equivalent to advertisements" and not written by its journalists. It runs on forbesindia.com, a separate site from the US edition. It's the paid, labelled kind of feature, and the only kind we arrange.
Will people know it's paid? Will investors think I bought it?
Yes, they'll know, because the label is the magazine's own and it stays on the page. That's fine. Paying isn't what embarrasses founders; pretending they were picked is. Call it a sponsored feature, and it still shows what you've built.
Are you part of Forbes India?
No. Execlient is an independent agency, not part of or endorsed by Forbes India or its publisher. Execlient is your one point of contact: the angle, the interview, the writing, your approvals and the live link.
Can I get on Forbes India 30 Under 30?
Not by paying anyone. Forbes India 30 Under 30 is an editorial list: its editors choose from applications, nominations and their own research. The same is true of its other editorial lists, its awards and its cover stories. We never sell list places, awards, rankings or covers. If you qualify, apply through forbesindia.com.
Money and risk
How much does a Forbes India feature cost?
It depends on the format: your own story or a profile in a shared feature, on forbesindia.com or in print. You hear the full fee, plus GST, early in a 10-minute call, with what is and isn't included. If it's more than you want to spend, the call ends there.
Why do Forbes India listicle slots on WhatsApp cost so much less?
Because they're a different product. They're usually 100 to 170 words and one photo, in a roundup of eight to ten companies, often under a headline that reads like a ranking. Ask any seller, us included, for the format, word count, working title and label in writing. You get ours before you pay, and we never sell a place in anything framed as a top list.
What if Forbes India doesn't publish my feature?
You get 100% of your money back. Forbes India reviews every sponsored feature before it runs and can decline one. If your feature doesn't go live, Execlient refunds everything you paid within 7 working days, as our refund policy says.
When do I pay, and who do I pay?
You pay 100% upfront to EXECLIENT PVT. LTD, a registered company whose CIN and GSTIN are on this page, against a GST invoice. Never an individual. The format, the label and the date are agreed in writing first, and if your feature doesn't go live, you get it all back.
Will a Forbes India feature bring me leads, investors or Google rankings?
We don't promise any of those. It gives the people who look you up, such as investors, buyers and senior hires, a labelled page on a known business title. We don't promise whether or where it shows up in search. If you need enquiries this month, ads are the better tool, and we run those too.
The details
Is it my own story or one of several?
Either, depending on the format you choose. Your own story is about you alone, and these usually run 700 to 900 words. A shared feature is a paid profile inside a multi-company sponsored piece, usually around 170 words and one photo. It isn't a ranking or a selection by Forbes India, and you get its working title in writing before you pay.
Who writes it, and how long does it take?
Execlient does, from a 30-minute interview. You review our draft before it goes to the magazine, which may edit it and has the final say on what appears. Timing follows Forbes India's publishing calendar, and you get the date, and how long it stays live, in writing before you pay.
Will I get a backlink?
Maybe a link, but not an SEO backlink. Most sponsored pages there link to the company's website, and Forbes India marks those links as sponsored, which is how Google asks paid links to be marked. So a link can bring readers to your site. Don't buy it for rankings; we don't sell SEO. Whether your link is included is in your written scope.
Can I say "featured in Forbes"?
Not in those words. Say "Sponsored feature in Forbes India", or "sponsored profile" for a shared piece, in plain text with the link. Don't write "featured in" or "as seen in", and don't claim the magazine named, ranked or chose you. Don't use its logo without the magazine's written permission, and never make a cover-style image.
I'm a doctor, advocate, CA or architect. Can I book one?
Check your council's rules first, because most restrict paid publicity for your own practice. Medical-ethics rules bar doctors from publicity about their own skills or achievements. Bar Council rules bar advocates from advertising, directly or indirectly. ICAI limits what a practising CA can advertise. The Council of Architecture bars architects from paying for press appearances. So we don't sell a feature about your own practice. A company you run, like a hospital or a product brand, may be different, so ask us. This is not legal advice.
We're a property developer. Anything different?
A company or founder story works. If it names a project, that project must be RERA-registered, and the story must show its RERA number and the authority's website. Maharashtra projects also need the MahaRERA QR code. We keep price, return and booking claims out of it.
